What is the linguistic and terminological impact of changing the position of the phrase "bighayri ʿilm" (without knowledge) in the noble verse, and does the meaning differ based on its position?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to alter the rules of the Noble Quran. Scholars have reached a consensus that whoever intentionally adds a letter to it, or removes one from it, or changes it, is considered a disbeliever. Furthermore, Imam Malik and Imam Ahmad explicitly forbade changing its script, which was written by the Companions. Therefore, one must be wary of any attempts to change the Book of Allah, and be diligent in reciting it, memorizing it, pondering its meanings, and acting upon it.
