Should an apostate, upon embracing Islam during Ramadan, fast the remainder of the month and make up what they missed?

If an original disbeliever converts to Islam in Ramadan, he is obligated to fast the remainder of the month without making up for what he missed. As for an apostate, all religious obligations become binding upon him, and he must make up for the fasting he missed, according to the Shafi'is and Hanbalis, whereas the Malikis and Hanafis do not obligate him to make up for it.
