Allah has permitted good things and forbidden evil things. The default rule for beneficial things is permissibility, unless prohibition is proven by evidence, based on His (the Most High) saying: "It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth." The use of a mobile phone is permissible unless its severe harm is proven, in accordance with the principle, "There should be no harm or reciprocating of harm." Along with the permissibility of its use, moderation in spending on it is obligatory, with neither extravagance nor miserliness. Indeed, extravagance in permissible things is forbidden, and the limit of extravagance varies according to people's circumstances.
