ما مدى صحة حديث "هم قوم يأتون بعدي، يأخذون علمهم من الكتب المعلقة"؟

The wording of the narrated tradition concerning the best of the people of faith states: "There will come after me peoples, through the loins of men, who will believe in me though they have not seen me, and they will find the suspended scrolls and act according to what is in them. These are the best of the people of faith in terms of faith."

This hadith has a weak chain of transmission (isnaad). Muhammad ibn Abi Hamid is abandoned in hadith, Ahmad ibn Ishaq is accused and a liar, Al-Mughira ibn Qais is a denier of hadith (munkar al-hadith), and Ismail ibn Ayyash is weak. However, some scholars have deemed it good (hasan).

The meaning of the hadith, assuming its authenticity, is that the faith of these people who believe in the unseen, who did not see the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and did not witness the revelation of the Qur'an, is more wondrous than the faith of others. However, this does not indicate that they are better than the Companions; rather, it indicates the high status of their faith in a time when disbelief and ignorance were widespread.
