The answer

Allah commanded adornment for prayer, saying: (O Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer). This adornment varies according to the custom of the land. Wearing socks in prayer for men is permissible, not obligatory or recommended. However, if the prevailing custom among a people is that wearing socks in prayer is considered part of perfect adornment, then it should be observed to avoid attracting attention and standing out. When there is a difference of opinion, one should act with kindness and gentleness. It is inappropriate for a worshipper to leave the mosque, become bigoted, and deprive himself of the reward of congregational prayer because of this matter, for religion calls for noble morals and calm, constructive interaction.
