The answer

Abandoning prayer is a grave sin, and repentance for it is obligatory, as is making up the missed prayers according to the majority of scholars. Inability to perform (ritual bath) in winter is not an excuse for abandoning prayer. If the use of water would be harmful, then (dry ablution) is permissible. However, if water can be heated and there is no harm, then ghusl is obligatory. Leaving early for work does not justify abandoning ghusl; it is possible to perform ghusl with sufficient time before leaving, as ghusl does not take a long time.
