If a sister seeks divorce due to her husband's ill-treatment, or her hatred for him, or her fear that she will not be able to fulfill his rights, then there is no sin upon her. For a woman, seeking divorce is prohibited without a valid reason. It is preferable that two arbitrators, one from her family and another from the husband's family, mediate to reconcile them, or they agree upon divorce if reconciliation is impossible. It is not permissible to describe the second wife as malicious.
