These calamities may be a form of punishment, a deterrent, and a warning, often resulting from the widespread prevalence of immoral acts and forbidden deeds. The correct approach to Da'wah (inviting to Islam) is to utilize these events to remind people of Allah's signs and to draw lessons from them. The Quran encourages traversing the earth and reflecting upon the consequences faced by those who denied the truth, as Allah Almighty says: "Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed [everything] over them, and for the disbelievers will be similar [fates]."
