The preponderant opinion among scholars is the permissibility of acquiring and making toys in the form of dolls from fabric and the like, as this is an exception to the general prohibition of making images. As for those that have appeared in this era with clear features, contemporary scholars have differed concerning them, and it is more cautious to avoid this type.
