Does paying financial bail to release someone from prison fall under the ruling of freeing a slave?

Paying financial bail to release a prisoner does not fall under the category of freeing a believing slave, unless the prisoner is a Muslim captive held by disbelievers. In that case, it is permissible to free the captive using zakat funds, as stated by the Hanbalis in "Kashshaf al-Qina."
