Is a small age difference between a man and a woman considered a legitimate impediment to marriage?

The age difference between spouses is a common and permissible matter. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, married Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, and she was older than him, and he married Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, and he was older than her. Therefore, the existence of an age difference, whether small or large, is not a legal impediment and does not negatively impact marital life except in cases of weak religious commitment and character, or the presence of another barrier that prevents the spouses from fulfilling their duties.
