Is it obligatory to obey one's parents regarding praying congregationally in the street for Maghrib and Isha, or should one go to the mosque, and does this prayer suffice for the obligation of praying in the mosque?

The prayer is permissible and valid, and the obligation of congregational prayer is waived, because the mosque is not a condition for the validity of congregational prayer. However, praying in the mosque is better and brings a greater reward. It is not obligatory to obey parents in abandoning congregational prayer at the mosque if they have no benefit in preventing you or harm in your going. We advise treating them with gentleness and kindness, explaining to them the virtue of congregational prayer, and not delaying when going. One may occasionally skip congregational prayer to win their hearts.
