What is the ruling concerning my prayer at home if my parents prevent me from going to the mosque, citing its distance from the house and their fear for me, knowing that I am 16 years old?

Congregational prayer is obligatory for free, adult men. It is valid anywhere, according to most scholars. If the prayer is performed congregationally at home, there is no sin upon the one who does so, according to these scholars, even if he misses the virtue of praying in the mosque. Parents should not prevent their son from going to the mosque due to its virtue, unless their fear for him is religiously valid.
