Congregational prayer is obligatory for every adult, capable man who hears the regular call to the mosque. If you do not hear the call, you are not obligated to go to the mosque and you may pray with your family. However, if you hear the call, then congregational prayer becomes obligatory for you, and it is not permissible to abandon it in order to follow the prayer of family members; rather, you can follow them after returning from the mosque. If a boy reaches puberty, he becomes accountable and responsible. However, the responsibility of the parents remains in advising him, enjoining good, and forbidding evil, especially if he lives with them, based on the Almighty's saying: (O YOU WHO HAVE BELIEVED, PROTECT YOURSELVES AND YOUR FAMILIES FROM A FIRE), and the Hadith: (ALL OF YOU ARE SHEPHERDS AND ALL OF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FLOCK). Part of this responsibility is that the father should not bring any forbidden things into his home. If the son moves into his own home, the father's duty becomes one of advice and reminding.
