What is the ruling on uttering a word of disbelief inadvertently or heedlessly, such as saying, "Ibn al-Rabb said," without intending its meaning or believing in it, and is that considered disbelief?

Whoever utters a word of disbelief without intending its meaning, and his heart is firm in faith, is not held accountable. This is because intention is a condition for accountability, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has overlooked for my Ummah mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into." However, whoever habitually utters such words due to carelessness and disdain is held accountable and becomes a disbeliever, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, a servant may utter a word that incurs the displeasure of Allah the Almighty, not giving it any thought, and by it he falls into Hellfire." Therefore, one must be cautious in what he says, and he should either speak good or remain silent.
