What is the ruling on extracting semen from a woman's vagina after intercourse and depositing it into the uterus at the husband's request?

If the expulsion of semen from the uterus before the formation [of the fetus] is with the wife's permission and consent, and no Sharia-forbidden consequence results from it, then there is no harm in it, according to the preponderant opinion, which is the view of the majority of scholars. The Hanafis have permitted abortion as long as the fetus has not yet formed, and the Hanbalis have allowed the expulsion of the sperm. As for the Shafi'is and Malikis, they hold two opinions, oscillating between reprehensibility (karahah) and prohibition (hurmah), and they consider the destruction of the sperm after it has settled in the uterus to be an offense against an existing entity, and that it becomes more heinous the further the formation of the fetus progresses.
