How can one inform their family about converting to Islam, especially with their fanaticism towards Christianity?

First, we congratulate you on the blessing of guidance to Islam. We remind you that converting from the religion of one's forefathers is not easy and requires dealing with social and psychological challenges, while emphasizing not to revert to disbelief after having embraced faith.

Second, you should not inform your family or current social circle about your conversion to Islam at this stage, to avoid tribulation (fitnah) and being turned away from the religion. Benefit from the experiences of others by showing steadfastness and patience, and remember the trials of the prophets and righteous people.

Third, do not humiliate yourself by exposing yourself to a tribulation you cannot bear. You should perform what you can of Islamic rituals without exposing yourself to harm or revealing your Islam, such as uttering the two testimonies of faith (Shahadatain) in secret, choosing modest clothing, and performing prayers at hidden times, while being keen to stay in touch to seek advice and guidance and to supplicate for steadfastness.
