Does the deceased know who supplicates for them?

It is probable that the dead know who supplicates for them if they knew them in this life, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There is no man who passes by the grave of his brother whom he knew in this life and greets him, but Allah returns his soul to him so that he may return the greeting."
