Is it permissible for someone who stole a computer and damaged it to return the value of the stolen item to its owner secretly, for fear of being exposed?

Theft is a major sin and one of the gravest transgressions, its punishment being the cutting off of the hand. Whoever is afflicted by it should conceal themselves and repent with sincere repentance. Swearing falsely upon the Book of Allah is a grave sin. Therefore, sincere repentance, seeking forgiveness, performing abundant righteous deeds, and resolving never to return to it are all necessary.

Rights must be returned to their owners. If the stolen item is still intact, it should be returned to its owner. If it is damaged or used, its value on the day of the aggression should be returned. The right can be delivered directly or through a stratagem if harm is feared. The important thing is that the right reaches its owner by any possible means. The full value of the device must be paid. If one of the partners refuses, the other should pay on their behalf and then claim reimbursement for what they paid.
