Is a woman who wishes death upon her husband due to his shortcomings and neglect sinful?

Allah has magnified the right of the husband over his wife, as shown by the hadiths of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Any shortcomings on the part of the husband should be rectified through reminders, admonition, and recourse to those with sound judgment. It is permissible for a woman to seek khul' (divorce initiated by the wife) or divorce if a decent life becomes impossible, but she should not resort to praying for his death. Rather, she should pray to Allah to rectify their affairs and choose what is best for them. She should be patient to earn reward, for relief comes with distress, and the hardships of time do not last.
