If one is not certain about the necessity of performing (ritual bath) due to intercourse or seminal discharge during sleep, then ghusl is not obligatory, because the default assumption is that such an event did not occur. Doubt does not remove certainty, as stated in the : "He should not leave (his prayer) until he hears a sound or finds a smell." Therefore, there is no need to repeat prayers unless there is certainty about the occurrence of a major impurity that necessitates ghusl.
