What is the authenticity of this supplication: "O Most Generous, O Allah, Possessor of expansive mercy, O Knower of secrets, consciences, thoughts, and reflections, nothing is hidden from You. I ask You for an outpouring from the flood of Your grace, a handful from the light of Your authority, and solace and relief from the ocean of Your generosity. In Your hand is the entire matter and the keys to everything, so grant us what cools our eyes and makes us independent of asking anyone other than You, for You are vast in generosity, abundant in bounty, and beautiful in character. We are standing at Your door, and we await Your vast and known generosity, O Most Generous, O Most Merciful"? And does it have a story?

The supplication mentioned was not reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or from the righteous predecessors. However, it is authentically reported that he sought refuge from disbelief (kufr), poverty, and the torment of the grave. He used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from poverty, destitution, and humiliation; and I seek refuge in You from wronging others or being wronged." It was also reported from him, peace and blessings be upon him, a supplication: "O Allah, Lord of the heavens... relieve us of debt and enrich us from poverty." Furthermore, Abu Dawud narrated a supplication to be recited morning and evening for dispelling worry and paying off debt: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from inability and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the domination of men."
