Does the Hadith Qudsi, "Closer to you than the jugular vein," contradict the existence of angels entrusted with recording deeds?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

"Raqib" and "Atid" are descriptions of the angels entrusted with recording human deeds. Allah, the Most Glorified and Exalted, is the Just Judge. And out of His justice, He diversifies the witnesses against His servants. He is the greatest of witnesses, and He made the angels witnesses. Similarly, a person's tongue, hands, feet, skin, hearing, and sight will bear witness to what they have done. Allah makes the body parts speak to corroborate the testimony of the noble recording angels, establishing the proof against the servants and leaving no room for any excuse. Allah's justice is evident in counting the deeds of His servants, having angels witness and record them in the scrolls, and presenting them to the servants on the Day of Resurrection as a witness against them.
