How should I act with my wife after I tried to betray her?

Adultery is a heinous crime and a transgression against the limits set by Allah, a major sin, and forbidden in all religions. Allah has ordained severe punishments for it in this world and the hereafter. Allah Almighty says: "And they do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever does that will meet a penalty. The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in humiliation." And Allah Almighty says: "And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an indecency and is evil as a way."
