Is it obligatory to grow a beard, or to obey one's parents if they forbid it?

Shaving the beard is forbidden (haram), and it is not permissible to do so to obey a parent or a superior, because obedience is only in what is good (ma'ruf), and there is no obedience to a creature if it involves disobedience to the Creator.
