Marriage to a woman of the People of the Book is permissible, provided she is chaste. The fact that a girl is not a virgin does not necessarily mean she committed zina (fornication), as there are many reasons for the loss of virginity. This civil marriage is often invalid because it does not fulfill the conditions of a sound marriage, such as the presence of a wali (guardian) and witnesses. Therefore, you must separate from her through annulment or divorce. As for the fetus attributed to you with doubt, it is not permissible to abort it, even in its early stage, according to the preponderant opinion of scholars. However, some scholars have permitted abortion before forty days if there is a compelling need for it, to avert hardship.
