What is the ruling on a man watching his friend's wife and speaking with her about ordinary matters in the presence of the husband in the same house?

If a woman enters with her lawful attire and accompanied by her mahram or husband, there is no harm in that, as seclusion (khalwa) is absent. Conversation with her should be limited to what is necessary, in accordance with the verse: "So do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech." (Quran 33:32). It is better to avoid speaking with her if there is no need. If there is an inclination towards the unlawful, or if the woman softens her speech, then the path of Satan must be cut off.
