The excuse that he does not love his fiancée is not valid; it is more fitting for her to pray for someone better for herself. There is no need to prioritize between seeking forgiveness (istighfar) and supplicating (du'a); both can be combined. The questioner's feeling that her supplication has not been answered is a delusion from Satan, for in the Hadith: "One of you will have his supplication answered as long as he does not become impatient, saying: 'I supplicated but I was not answered.'" It is necessary to avoid women befriending and conversing with non-mahram men on social media platforms.
