What are the consequences for a husband who intentionally drank alcohol during the daytime in Ramadan five years ago and did not make up that day, and how can he atone for his sin, knowing that he completed the fast of the rest of the month and did not stop drinking alcohol outside of Ramadan?

Drinking alcohol is a major sin, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed its drinker. Breaking the fast during the day in Ramadan is a grave sin, and the matter becomes worse if the reason for breaking the fast was drinking alcohol. The alcohol drinker must offer sincere repentance, and whoever intentionally breaks their fast in Ramadan must make up for the missed days and feed a poor person for each day if they delayed making up the fast despite being able to do so.
