Does Imam Al-Shafi'i's statement that he never swore by Allah his entire life, out of reverence for Allah, contradict the Sunnah of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who swore and commanded to swear by Allah?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to swear by Allah the Almighty and forbade swearing by anyone other than Him. Imam Al-Shafi'i, may Allah be pleased with him, did not swear by Allah, in compliance with the words of Allah the Almighty: "And do not make Allah an excuse in your oaths" (Quran 2:224). This was out of his piety, understanding, and reverence for Allah, not that he prohibited swearing by Allah when there was a need for it.
