What is the ruling on one who took money to distribute among the needy, but instead distributed honey equal to the value of the money?

This action is impermissible, as the agent has violated the condition set by his principal. If the principal ratifies his action, then there is nothing upon him. Otherwise, the agent must execute the agency as the principal intended. The agent is responsible for the value of the honey and cannot count it from the principal's money.
