Is a traveler's supplication answered only during the journey itself, or throughout the entire duration of the travel, even if it is prolonged?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Three supplications are answered without a doubt: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of a parent against his child." And the supplication of the traveler is answered for the duration of his journey due to his estrangement and brokenness of spirit.
