Allah Almighty mentioned in the Qur’an the characteristics of His believing servants, among them:

1. Humility, tranquility, and dignity: "And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily." 2. Turning away from the ignorant: "And when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace." 3. Frequent night prayers: "And those who spend [part of] the night prostrating to their Lord and standing [in prayer]." 4. Fear of the torment of Hell: "And those who say, 'Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell.'" 5. Moderation in spending: "And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or stingily but are moderate [therein]." 6. Belief in the Oneness of Allah: "And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity." 7. Preserving life from unlawful killing: "Nor kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right." 8. Chastity and purity: "Nor commit unlawful sexual intercourse." 9. Avoiding falsehood and idle talk: "And those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass by idle talk, they pass by with dignity." 10. Reflecting on Allah's verses: "And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind." 11. Striving for self-improvement and the betterment of others: "And those who say, 'Our Lord, grant us from our wives and our offspring comfort to our eyes and make us leaders for the righteous.'"
