If one doubts the emission of something during prayer, one is not obligated to discontinue it unless certainty is reached regarding the emission of wind. Hearing or smelling are not conditions, by consensus; rather, what is meant is the knowledge of the occurrence of the impurity. Thus, if a woman is certain she smells an odor of impurity and is sure it is an undeniable odor of impurity, then her prayer is invalid due to the necessity of repeating ablution and the prayer. However, if it is merely a matter of whispers (waswasa) or illusion, it should be disregarded, and the prayer remains valid.
