So blessed be Allah, the best of creators. Is there, then, any creator other than Allah?

Creation [al-khalq] can mean bringing into existence, which is exclusive to Allah Almighty. It can also mean estimation, proportioning, and making, which humans can do. Allah Almighty is the Best of creators [Khayr al-Khaliqin] in the sense of being the best of makers, proportioners, and fashioners. The term "al-Khaliq" (the Creator) in religious terminology is reserved for Allah Almighty, and bringing into existence from nothingness is exclusive to Him, glory be to Him. Attributing creation to other than Allah is metaphorical and distant, as in the story of Jesus's creation from clay. This was a linguistic usage before the term became exclusively associated with Allah Almighty.
