What is the ruling on remaining in a non-Islamic country that follows the footsteps of the West, given the presence of a Christian mother who drinks alcohol and cooks non-halal foods in the same utensils as my food, and is it permissible for me to leave the house and the country to live as a Muslim?

If the mother is Christian, she should be invited to Islam with wisdom, explaining to her the virtues of Islam and the falsehood of Christian beliefs. If she is Muslim, she should be called to abandon sins and repent from them, especially drinking alcohol, clarifying its prohibition from the Quran and Sunnah, and cautioning her about God's punishment. One must be gentle and kind with her. Regarding cooking utensils that held forbidden items, if other utensils are available, it is preferable not to eat from them. Otherwise, they should be washed and eaten from, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not eat from them, unless you find no other, then wash them and eat from them." As for abandoning the home or leaving the country, if staying harms one's religion and the family does not respond to the call, then abandonment is better. Otherwise, one must stay and continue to invite them.
