Is a woman's honor dependent on the hymen, and where is a man's honor?

The honor of both women and men lies in chastity and avoiding indecencies. Both are forbidden from fornication and its preludes, and both deserve punishment upon committing the indecency. Allah Almighty said: "The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man guilty of fornication - lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and let not pity for them prevent you from [enforcing] the religion of Allah, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment. The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries [a female fornicator] except a fornicator or a polytheist, and that has been forbidden to the believers." The hymen may be present in an unchaste woman, and it may be lost in a chaste woman due to reasons other than intercourse.
