Is it permissible for children to play with dolls in the shape of humans or animals, given that it is not permissible to draw images of humans and animals?

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen permitted playing with dolls that are incomplete in their design, such as those having some limbs and a head without a clear depiction of the creation, considering them to be of the same type as Aisha's (may Allah be pleased with her) dolls. As for dolls that are complete in their creation and perfectly resemble humans, especially if they are movable or have sound, the inclination is towards their impermissibility due to their resemblance to Allah's creation. It is more probable that Aisha's playing was not with such dolls, and avoiding them is preferable. However, he did not definitively rule them unlawful given the leniency granted to children in such matters. As a precaution, the head of the doll can be removed or defaced.
