Is it permissible to confine one's paternal uncle to the house to prevent him from borrowing money from people and not repaying it, and should he be asked to pray at home instead of in the mosque?

It is not permissible to imprison a debtor unless it is done by a judge for the right of the creditors. If the judge accuses the debtor of concealing money, he may imprison him; otherwise, no, due to the Almighty's saying: {And if he should be in difficulty, then [let there be] postponement until [a time of] ease.} If it is known that he has concealed wealth, then he should be imprisoned until he produces his money. It is not permissible for anyone other than a judge to imprison him, especially from praying in the mosque.
