Is it permissible for a sister to sleep next to her brother in the same room due to her extreme fear of darkness, knowing that there are separate beds and that the parents are not present?

It is permissible for brothers and sisters to sleep in one room if each has a separate bed. However, it is forbidden for a girl to sleep with her adult brother in the same bed, touching each other, because the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and beat them for it when they are ten, and separate them in their beds."

Some books of Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) have stipulated the obligation to separate boys and girls in their beds when they reach the age of ten. As for them sleeping in one bed without touching, some scholars have permitted it if there is no fear of temptation, while others have deemed it impermissible, and this is the more cautious opinion.
