Is the Prophet Jacob's — peace be upon him — intense attachment to his son Joseph — peace be upon him — the real reason for his separation from him, as stated in some articles?

The reason for Joseph's (peace be upon him) estrangement was his brothers' envy of him, as mentioned in the Quran. Jacob had warned Joseph not to recount his vision to them, fearing their treachery, which is precisely what happened when his brothers decided to cast him into the well. As for the wisdom behind this divine decree, the apparent wisdom is that Jacob would attain the rank of patience and contentment with God's decree. Qadi Iyad mentioned that Jacob's trial with Joseph was due to his intense love for him, similar to the command given to Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael, where God intended to purify his heart from any rival to the love of God. Nevertheless, there is no text from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that clarifies the complete divine wisdom in this decree, and God knows best His wisdom.
