A man passed away, leaving behind a mother and a daughter, and an inheritance of five million Riyals.

The heirs must be accurately identified before dividing the inheritance, because the heirs are not limited to the mother and the daughter, and there may be another heir besides them.

However, if it is assumed that the deceased left no one but the mother and the daughter:

The mother receives one-sixth as a fixed share (fard), and the daughter receives one-half as a fixed share (fard).

The remainder is divided between them by رد (return).

The inheritance (5 million) is divided into four shares:

The mother: one share (as fard and by رد), which is one million two hundred and fifty thousand Riyals.

The daughter: three shares (as fard and by رد), which is three million seven hundred and fifty thousand Riyals.
