What is the ruling on the conditional vow of recompense mentioned in Fatwa no. 227842?

A conditional vow (nathr al-mujazah) is the suspension of a vow until the occurrence of a desired event or the aversion of an undesirable one. It must be fulfilled if the condition is met. One is not permitted to renege on it except in the case of an incapacitation from which recovery is not expected. In such a situation, an expiation for a broken oath (kaffarat yamin) becomes obligatory: feeding ten poor people, clothing them, or freeing a slave. If one cannot find any of these, then fasting for three days. If the condition upon which the vow was suspended is not met, then there is nothing binding on the one who made the vow.
