Is zakat obligatory on rented land cultivated with chickpeas, in the same way zakat is obligatory on owned land?

The on crops is due from the tenant who cultivated the land, not from the landlord who owns the land. This is the view of the majority of scholars, and therefore, you must pay the zakat on the chickpeas.
