Is it permissible to supplicate in English?

Supplicating in any language outside of prayer is permissible. However, within the prayer, it is not permissible to supplicate in a language other than Arabic according to the majority of scholars. It is preferable and better for a Muslim to adhere to the Arabic language in all of his acts of worship.
