The Prophets and martyrs hold the highest ranks with Allah. It is mentioned in a from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that among Allah's servants are those whom the Prophets and martyrs envy, such as those who love each other for the sake of Allah. The envy here does not mean that the Prophets and martyrs wish to be in the position of these beloved ones due to any deficiency on their part. Rather, it signifies their admiration for their status and their joy for them, because Prophets and martyrs generally hold a higher rank. This preference in a specific status does not imply preference in all statuses.
