Will my Lord hold me accountable for my discomfort with a preacher who does not grow his beard, even though I listen to him with the intention of remembering Allah?

The burning desire you feel within yourself for religion and commitment to it is something you will be rewarded for. Your heart's unease towards a preacher because he does not grow his beard is not something you will be held accountable for, as it is a matter of religious law and a matter of the heart that cannot be repelled. Combining listening to the good things he says with your dislike for his not growing a beard is the truth, for the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah is to detest any transgression in a person against what Allah and His Messenger have commanded, while simultaneously loving him for his actions and his call to what Allah and His Messenger love.
