How can an unmarried woman get rid of the "qarinah" (a jinn companion) that appears to her as a black cat in her dreams, harms her upon waking, and confronts her in reality, especially since she feels hesitation and an inability to do anything, and what are the Quranic verses that should be recited for protection?
It is for whoever sees a dream they dislike to seek refuge in Allah from Satan and to spit lightly to their left. Then, they are advised to persevere in performing obligatory duties and reciting dhikr (remembrances of Allah), to divert their mind from such things, and to utilize their time and energy in what benefits them in this world and the hereafter. They should also engage themselves in learning the Quran, studying books of and the Prophet's biography (), and serving Muslims. Among the greatest verses are those from Al-Fatihah, Surah Al-, Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas), Ayatul Kursi, and the concluding verses of Surah Al-Baqarah.
