What is the Shar'i ruling regarding a man who is wavering between divorcing his wife or estranging his mother and sister, after continuous disagreements and problems between his wife, his mother, and his sister, which has led him to consider self-harm?

Problems between spouses and the wife's or husband's family are common, and the spouses must be wise and diligent so as not to give room to Satan. It is recommended to supplicate frequently, and the problem may result from psychological pressures that necessitate consulting doctors. If there is a suspicion of magic (sihr), then ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) and dhikr (remembrance of Allah) are essential. One must be careful not to accuse family members of magic without proof. One must also be careful of suicidal thoughts or thoughts of killing the wife. The wife is not entitled to seek divorce except for real harm, and she does not have the right to make her husband choose between her and his family. It is recommended that wise people intervene to reconcile, and if cohabitation becomes impossible, divorce may be the solution. The wife is not permitted to leave her husband's house except out of real necessity.
