The answer

is disbursed to the categories mentioned in the Holy Quran in At-: "Indeed, [ prescribed ] charitable offerings are only to be [ given to ] the poor and the needy, and to those who work on [ collecting and distributing ] them, and to those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to [ free ] captives and [ help ] those in debt, and for the cause of Allah , and for the traveler. [ This is ] an obligation from Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise." It is permissible to give zakat to organizations if you are certain or highly confident that they will disburse it according to its prescribed expenditures. In such a case, one's obligation is fulfilled. There is no harm in obtaining a receipt for zakat to deduct a percentage from taxes.
